School and District Grant Information Webinar Scheduled

Colorado Council on the Arts staff will give overview of new
Success through Art (StART) Schools grant program

DENVER—(February 1, 2008) There will be a live, web-based information session on Thursday, February 7 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. for schools and districts interested in applying for the Colorado Council on the Arts new StART Schools grants. Colorado public and charter schools and school districts are eligible to apply for either a one-year Comprehensive Arts Education Planning Grant or a two-year Arts Education Implementation Grant. Both grants have an on-line application process with a deadline of March 13, 2008.

By supporting schools in planning and implementing "arts rich" environments, the Colorado Council on the Arts will be a catalyst for meaningful collaboration among Colorado K-12 public schools and districts, artists, and arts/cultural organizations, resulting in opportunities for increased student engagement and improvements in academic achievement and behavioral development for all Colorado students.

As in CCA’s other grant programs, grant requests are reviewed in a competitive process by peer panelists who make funding recommendations to the Council.

This Webinar will let you view a Power Point presentation while participating in a live conference call. You must be at an internet-connected computer and have a separate phone line available.
